While researching PvP set-ups for my new Myrmidon I came across a few different PvP setups, one of which being CrazyKinux’s. After looking around the Ships and Modules section in the EVE Online forums and the Loadouts section of the BattleClinic forums, I ended up deciding on a setup based on CrazyKinux’s.

I’m not entirely sure how much this will set me back but since I’ve got 66 million ISK, it shouldn’t make too much of a dent in my wallet.

Unfortunately, I still need to train some skills to allow me to use everything but luckily I’ve got EVEMon to track what skills I need to train. Which are:

1. Scout Drone Operation III (1 hour, 28 minutes, 30 seconds)
2. Scout Drone Operation IV (1 day, 9 hours, 12 minutes, 14 seconds)
3. Long Range Targeting IV (2 days, 16 hours, 30 minutes, 38 seconds)
4. Energy Systems Operation I (12 minutes, 59 seconds)
5. Engineering V (7 days, 14 hours, 24 minutes, 18 seconds)

Total time: 11 days, 17 hours, 48 minutes, 41 seconds

The last skill isn’t necessarily needed to fly the ship, I’ve just got it there to help to boost my power grid capacity. Seeing as I had to take off the N-Type Thermic Hardener I to lower how many MWs of my power grid was being taken up. I’m most likely going to get everything fitted after Energy Systems Operation I has finished training then train Engineering V while I’m using my Myrmidon and then when that’s finished I’ll switch the Mark I Generator Refitting: Diagnostic System for an N-Type Explosive Hardener I.
I guess this is what I get for missing out on just under a year of skill training.

Which brings my onto my next subject; guides, resources and apps.

While researching setups for my Myrmidon, I found a few great apps, guides and forums. So if anyone looking for ship fitting info is reading this, the following links should be all you need to help you get a great setup going.

Applications:

  • EVE Fitting ToolGreat tool in which you can choose your ship and fitting with. Once you’ve chosen your fitting it will tell you useful info such as your DPS (Damage Per Second), maximum targeting range
  • QuickFit Ship FitterApplication similar to the EVE Fitting Tool, I don’t think the creator releases updates anymore though.
  • EVEMon Great app for planning skills and keeping track of your character’s stats when not in EVE.

Guides:

You can find more at the Ships and Modules Guides, and Resources thread.

  1. I’m currently working on a new setup and will post about it shortly. Before I do though, I’m in the same boat as you and need to train quite a few skills.

We should try to hook-up and fly PvP together!

    Now that’d be sweet!

  2. Definitely, that’d be awesome. Where abouts so you usually fly?
I’m usually around the Tash-Murkon region.

  3. Well I started writing up a comment regarding your Myrmidon fit, but it turned QUITE lengthy.

So instead I’ll direct you to my post. 🙂

    Post here

  4. That sure is a long post. I know my fit could be a lot better but at the moment I’m limited by the skills I have. Before now I’ve had most of my skills in industry and only a few in combat related skills. I need to train a lot more skills in order to have some of the modules in your post. 😦

*Caldari Navy charges have the same stats as Federation Navy, and can be used interchangeably.
** It is QUITE possible to dig yourself into a hole here as the Med Electrochem booster has a cycle time of 400 seconds, while your armor reps have a cycle time of 9.6 seconds. Using Cap 400’s would solve that problem but leave you with 1/2 the charges and 200u of “wasted” cap. Cap 200’s are much better in situations where you only need to run one rep, i.e. ideal fight conditions, where as Cap 400’s will allow you to perma-run (charge dependent) one rep and pulse your secondary.
*** If you completely fill your cargo hold you won’t be able to reload your cap charges until you reload your guns.
    **** MicroWarpdrive off

  6. Is there a max comment length? I had another fitting to post but it doesn’t seem to want to post..

  7. Not that I know of. But then I’ve only had this blog for a couple months so I’m not too sure.

  8. Whelp, I just posted it on my blog again, give it a look and let me know if that fit is anymore viable for you.

  9. I loaded that fit into EVE Ship Fit so I could compare them and although I would be gaining a lot of speed with the MWD and gaining 20 DPS, I lose roughly half of my armour HP and my cap would last one minute less.
I’ll probably try out my current fitting for a bit and see how well it fares in actual combat.

  10. While I don’t mean to nag, let me point this out.

    Your kit:
    Total Effective HP: 35,850

    My kit from above:
    Total Effective HP: 41,804

I’m just trying to offer my comments and critique to offer you the best ship fit for what you’re intending to do, which, to quote Minsc, “Butt-kicking for justice!”

    Have fun 😉

  11. Whoops, I grabbed the wrong one, correct stats

    Your kit:
    Total Effective HP: 35,850

    My kit from above:
    Total Effective HP: 34,526

  12. When I load it into EFT it shows the effective HP as roughly 30,000. It’s most probably skills that are the problem. I don’t have very many skills in combat or combat related areas (armour, shield, etc.)
P.S. Pirating is quite the opposite of Justice really. 😉

  13. It’s justice for the astroids! Who’s going to be their advocate!?

Anyways, a little hint about fitting for pvp, resists > raw stats

Resists work much better stacking (people) wise. If you have 1000 hp and you’re taking 100dps you’re going to die in 10 seconds, where as if you have 500hp and you’re taking 100dps w/ 50% resists, you’re only taking 50 of the 100dps.

Plates and shield extenders can help you live longer, but resists will work harder, better and faster.

Of course results are situation dependent but I cant quite think of many situations where I’d rather have plates > resists.

Undocking in a disco-geddon outside of Jita 4-4 would be one of them.
