Right, so I was thinking, since I can’t play EVE anymore (no extra money to spend on a subscription) I thought I’d go back to the original purpose of this blog at least until I can get back into EVE. Now onto the main subject of the post.

I received an invite to a website beta that I didn’t sign up to today. Thinking (perhaps foolishly) that I had been chosen specifically, I’ve gone ahead and created an account.

Fuggidy Main Page

Fuggidy Main Page

I should probably say now that as I didn’t sign up for a beta invite, I’m not entirely sure what Fuggidy is. But, after a bit of searching it seems that Fuggidy is a new competitor to brightkite and Fire Eagle.
On face value, it seems that it won’t be much of a competitor, but I’m going to be using it as often as I can over the next week or so and see if it really has a stake in the location based social networking scene.
After a quick look, it seems pretty average, nothing new. Although the addition of manual location adding seems interesting. If you can’t find your location in the pre-set location list (after entering zip code/post code), just enter a name and a location and Fuggidy will log your newly created location.

As a bit of fun, I’ve created a poll below. With this poll, you can tell me your opinion on what you want to read about in this blog. As I’m sure a lot of you will have multiple reasons for coming to this blog, you can have multiple answers. So, answer away!

There’s been nothing new going on in my little area of EVE lately (mainly because I haven’t had the time to log on for any significant amount of time) so this post is mainly a short update on my online and gaming life.

I recently managed to get a (slightly) early copy of the trial version of the Spore Creature Creator and I’ve been spending a lot of my time creating weird and wonderful creatures. Some of which you can see below.

Raqua

Meenk

Coucaw

To kind of balance out me torrenting the leaked version, I pre-ordered the full version of the Spore Creature Creator while µTorrent was going to work. My other reasons behind this (of course, there had to be more) were that the trial version only features 25% of the creature parts, while the full version features all 200+ unique parts and saves £4.99 off the retail price of the full game if ordered from the EA website.

Onto a less gaming-centred topic, I recently started a photo blog for my random photos. So, if you’re interested in seeing some of my best (in my opinion) photos, head over to my personal photo blog and subscribe to the RSS feed if you’re that way inclined.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get into EVE as much as I would have liked over the past week. And because of this, I don’t really have anything interesting to write about. So, I’ve decided to use post this to get a bit of help from you lovely lads and ladies.

Firstly, I’ve finally gotten sick of being in an essentially dead corporation. Since I first posted about my corporation leaders leaving their posts to go ratting in 0.0, there’s been no change. So, I’ve decided to leave and find another more active corporation. You can find my character info below or at my Corporation Recruitment Info page.

As you may know, I am currently looking for a corporation.

In regards to the kind of corporation I’d like to join, I don’t have any particular preference. I’m happy in any line of work. I have decent PvP skills and a couple of combat able ships; as well as decent mining skills, a Covetor Mining Barge and an Iteron Mk V (with 29,000 m3 cargo space). So I can really be put to use anywhere.
I’m looking for a corporation preferably with people active around my time zone (GMT) but I’m prone to late nights at times so any time zone will be fine. I’d prefer a corporation located around the Caldari regions (The Forge, etc.) purely for ease of travel but I am willing travel to anywhere I am needed.

So, let’s move onto what I have to offer.

  • A little PvP experience from my days as a solo pirate.
  • Already in possession of some PvP-ready ships.
  • Don’t smack-talk.
  • Own a working headset. Headset currently broken but will get another when I can afford it.
  • Will happily join you in low sec and 0.0 systems, whether it be to mine, haul or take part in combat of any kind (PvP or PvE)
  • Can fly frigates, destroyers, cruisers, battlecruisers, and battleships. But I do not own a battleship as of yet.
  • Can fly a Covetor Mining Barge and an Iteron Mk V ideal for hauling large amounts of minerals, ore, items, etc. (as mentioned above).
  • Can make graphics. See my EVE-GFX gallery for examples.
  • Discount prices (50% off) on graphics made for corp members (signatures, etc.) or the corp as a whole (banners, headers, posters, etc.).

You can find my character info (such as skill points, current skills trained and ships I am able to fly) at inEVE.

If you want to know anything that I’ve left out, either leave a comment here, on the post that brought you here or send an EVE-mail to Godlesswanderer.

Secondly, after my failed 0.0 ratting escapade, I’ve realised I may need a new fitting for my precious Myrmidon. I know there are some (well, a lot) of you out there that are a lot better at fitting ships effectively than me, so I’d be eternally grateful if you could suggest a ship fitting that will stop (or at least decrease the likelyhood of) me getting my arse handed to me by NPC pirates.

That’s all from me today. Fly safe.

I haven’t had the time to get into EVE much over the past couple days so I don’t really have anything remotely interesting to write about. The only thing that has happened to me lately is being on the way back from Jita to Tasti and being blown up by a pirate gate-camping in a Badger MkII. Unluckily for me, I was too busy taking these two screenshots to notice that he was flashing red and that he had targeted me.

Luckily for me, I was only flying in a shuttle (and not my beautiful and valuable Myrmidon) and I had nothing in the cargo bay; and although I was podded, I had no implants (valuable or otherwise). So I didn’t really lose anything of any importance or great value, just 940,000 ISK for the new clone.

Anyway, back to my original point, links. Over the past couple days, I’ve found some great guides, apps and general bits of news that I thought you guys and girls may find useful or interesting. A couple, I’ve posted before but I thought I’d post them again in case you may have missed them or we have some new readers that hasn’t seen them. So here goes.

Applications:

  • EVE-MEEP -Eve-MEEP is the host for a wide array of tools that provide the vital calculations necessary for any serious industrialist. These tools take advantage of data accumulated by Eve-MEEP to help with everything from production to mining to trade.
  • EVEMon – A lightweight, easy-to-use standalone Windows application designed to assist you in keeping track of your EVE Online character progression.
  • EVE Fitting Tool – Great program in which you can try out and test new fittings for ships you have or are thinking about buying.

Guides:

  • The EVE Compendium – A compendium of EVE knowledge, mostly in the form of guides. Pretty much any guide you’ll need is in this compendium.

Maps:

  • 2D EVE Maps – Does what it says on the tin, 2D EVE maps by Ombey (and not Omber Zombie as I wrote earlier for some reason).
  • EVE Alliance Map – A galaxy map, regularly updated with alliance territory locations, pirate infestations, alliance war zones and current political power blocs.
  • EVE Influence Map – Similar to the alliance map above but instead shows influence.

weightedcubestuffed (by You)

If, like me, you’ve played Portal and you find yourself missing your Weighted Companion Cube that you so cruelly incinerated (in record time); you’ll be pleased to know that you’ll soon be able to buy a Plush Companion Cube (or two for your car). Unfortunately it’s not weighted but it’s better than nothing I guess. I’m not entirely sure when it will be coming out or how much it’ll cost but I’m sure it’ll go quickly when it is released. So make sure to get your Plush Companion Cube as soon as possible, I know I will be.
